I’m very excited to announce that Colin Crowley, a photo/video producer with Save the Children UK, is going to be giving a photo-presentation at the Schroeder Auditorium of Cardinal Stritch University (located in the “Campus Center“) on Aug 8, 7:30p.

Colin was born in Beloit, and went to school in Eau Claire and Oshkosh. He has a degree in French from UW – Eau Claire. After college, he lived in Toulon, France for 1 year, and lived on the Island of Reunion teaching English and taking photos for 2 years after college. Through a serendipitous connection, an opportunity to do work that needed his particular skill-set came his way. Colin will be sharing stories, photos and video from his experiences doing NGO work with Save the Children UK. You can find Colin on Twitter HERE.

The lecture is open to the public and will be of interest to anyone interested in: international travel, altruistic work, NGOs, photography, video, service work, Africa, and expanding their cultural horizons! Admission is free, but there is a suggested donation of $5 to cover presentation expenses.

Here’s an example of the kind of photos Colin has been making in Africa!  And here’s some more of his photos!

If you’re on Google+, please feel free to RSVP here. If you are not on Google+, please RSVP in the comments – I’d like to have an idea of how many people to expect!

POST-LECTURE RECEPTION: Colin and I would like to invite everyone who attends Disaster Passport to adjourn to the Milwaukee Press Club afterwards for some good conversation, more stories, and a few beers! 🙂
