pro bono: Painting for Theatre

As many people know, my wife and I are ardent supporters of Bay View‘s “Boulevard Theatre“. Mark Bucher, the founder and artistic director, is a passionate individual, giving his all to keep his theatre running. The Boulevard Theatre does much more for theatre in Milwaukee than just putting on creative versions of established plays and debuting brand new works. The Boulevard serves as a theatre where new and emerging actors and actresses can develop their skills under the wing of Mr. Bucher. For certain, the “flavor” of Milwaukee would be different without Mr. Bucher and Co.

The production that starts this week, Shakespeare’s “All’s Well That Ends Well“, features something new for the Boulevard. While artwork on the set is nothing unusual (these pieces made just for the play), three of these pieces are also auction items. Over the course of this play’s run, theatre-goers can also place bids on the artwork! The winning bidders will be announced after the play closes. All of the money raised by the sale of these three pieces will be donated to the Boulevard Theatre!

The reason I bring this to your attention is because my wife and I are responsible for those three pieces: an acrylic painting, water color painting and a photo. Rachel created a large acrylic King of Clubs, featuring Mr. Bucher. I brushed a watercolor of the Jack of Diamonds and made of a photograph of a Joker. Please consider coming out to the Boulevard in these next few weeks and supports the arts, visual and theatrical! Learn more about the Boulevard’s “All’s Well That Ends Well” HERE!

The starting bids will be: $300 (acrylic), $200(watercolor), and $100 (photograph).
