MKE Creatives: April meet-up

Even with our fearless co-leader – Troy Freund – out of town on a work assignment, about a dozen members of MKE Creatives chatted over coffee at the second meet-up, on Wednesday, April 9.

Like our first meet-up, Anodyne’s roasting plant and café (https://anodynecoffee.com/walkerspoint.php) in Walker’s Point played host, granting usage of its low-key meeting room. With espresso machines surrounding us and sun pouring through the windows on a rare spring-like day, and the buzz of coffee beans being ground in the background, talk turned to “shop” and work-life balance alike.

Co-leader Jenny Fink (http://www.jenniferlwfink.com) offered a lighthearted welcome and encouraged everyone to go around and introduce themselves, followed by Kristine Hansen (http://www.kristineahansen.com) reminding everyone to provide their email addresses so they can be added to our growing Google Group. (Note: if you were so engaged in coffee-chat that you forgot to do this, drop Kristine a line at Kristine@kristine-hansen.com.)

Kristine emphasized that the goal is to have a collaborative group. What does this mean? For example, don’t be shy to offer suggestions for local experts to attend future meetings and offer a mini presentation about topics relating to our businesses, everything from copyright laws to social media. Drop Troy an email at troyfreund@gmail.com if you have a topic or guest to recommend and don’t forget to consider your own skills and knowledge.

Thanks to Johnny Marszalkowski for snapping photos of our meet-up and making us each look beautiful from behind his fancy camera.

Our next meet-up is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to noon – with options to duck in and out during this time period – at Anodyne’s roasting plant and café. The address is 224 W. Bruce St.
