“Do you remember me?”

I know that many of us fall for the “nostalgia trap” – that tendency to look at old photos and make statements like “things were better back then,” “things were simpler back then”, and so on…I don’t know if it was better or simpler then. It seems like “grass is greener” thinking to me. Sometimes though, we can look at old photos and get it right; I think this photo is one of those occasions.

My brother found this photo of my Grandpa Marvin and Grandma Valeria Arseneau. It has no date, no location written down. You can tell they’re young, strong, in love and just vibrant with those feelings. I love that my Grandma, whose name was “Valeria”, always went by “Larry.” They were in love when they were young, they were in love when they were old. We can all hope for such enduring affection.
