pro bono: Job Camp

Yesterday, seven other Milwaukee photographers and I donated our time to help out the job seekers of Milwaukee.  The 4th Job Camp was taking place and we worked to create free headshots for people to aid in their new employment searches.

I spent the day behind the camera, working with people to get the right expression and pose for each of them–all 290+ of them!  I was steadily making photos from about 8:30 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. The other photographers took shifts working at four laptops–downloading, resizing, cropping and emailing the photos to all the participants.  The event went real smoothly and we got to help a lot of people, to give them something that could help them in employment transitions.

HERE is a list of the fine photographers who helped out!

HERE is a bit about Katie Donoghue who was very helpful yesterday.

Below is a selection of the images I made yesterday.  Also shown here is out set-up–a hair light, soft-box fill and beauty dish main light.  I was shooting with my Leica R8/DMR and 60mm Elmarit lens (a great portrait lens, as far as I’m concerned).
