In late-July, the Brew City Flood devastated many Milwaukee homes. The Cigelske family of Shorewood was one of those victims.  What made this family different though, was Tim and Jessica Cigelske’s involvement in social media.

Sue Spaight and Katie Klein-Murphy, who both knew the Cigelskes via Twitter, took it upon themselves to organize a benefit event to help the Cigelskes repair their home. Six weeks of planning led to the September 18 packed event at the Sprecher Brewery.  There was live music, a silent auction, free food and TONS of t-shirts

Tim and Jessica run a business called Teecycle.  Teecycle combines the Cigelskes’ green values with thrift-minded shopping by selling used t-shirts and donating a portion of the profits to the Milwaukee River Revitalization Foundation.
