The FreeTimer Book of Light

Any of you shutterbugs out there might want to be aware of this…
–I am part of a photo-network called the FreeTimers.  The FreeTimers is a network for self-employed photographers to learn from and engage with each other.  I’ve been running the network since 2003.  The network has hosted gallery shows, learning seminars and served as a good junction-point for working photographers in the Milwaukee/WI/Midwest region, though we’ve got a few members spread around the country, and even one member in Europe!
–It was that member, Michael Koritschan, who suggested we put together our own photobook.  After much back-and-forth and more than a few starts and stops, the FreeTimer Book of Light is now available for purchase!  Michael has contributed photos and been responsible for the layout and design of the book;  I wrote the introduction and contributed photos also.
The Freetimers’ Book of Light is available via Lulu.com  You can see the exact link here: http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/the-freetimers-book-of-light/12205652
It’s 48 pages long, has a mix of B+W and Color images and features the work of 11 photographers.  My portion of photos all happen to be of my lovely wife in a number of different settings, giving the viewer a peek into our lives together.
–The neatest thing about the book is that every purchase of the book generates funds for Artists Working in Education.  AWE is a non-profit whose board I have served on for nearly six years.  AWE works with local artists to give them employment in the form of artist-in-residencies at area MPS schools who do not have full art-education funding.  So, through its unique mission, AWE benefits Milwaukee artists and Milwaukee students!  Every FreeTimer Book of Light that sells through Lulu will generate $4 for AWE!  You can learn more about AWE here: http://www.awe-inc.org
I’ve ordered my copy of the book and will post some pics as soon as it arrives!
Enjoy, catch you all later!
