what you see, what you don’t

What always impresses me about photography is how different a photo can look from the environment it’s made in. It’s all about the framing, and how a photographer can use the 4 edges of their viewfinder to control the perceived “reality.” Take this shoot for instance, look at the finished photo and the wide-angle shot–could you have imagined that the photo was actually made in that backroom-like setting? To me that’s a little bit of magic and always makes me happy.
