retouching “out”, reality “in”

I think I want to start incorporating a new business slogan into my photography….”No retouching, just reality.” How does that sound? I’m a bit tired of everyone wanting to have cosmetic retouching done to their photos. A photograph is supposed to represent how something looks at a particular time, under a particular light via a particular photographer’s skills. That’s about where I’d like the major manipulations to end. With how easy everyone thinks retouching is nowadays, I can imagine a generation or two down the line where most people are looking at photos of past events that hardly resemble the events themselves. ugh…I’m tired of the ease with which photos can be manipulated. I don’t want to offer people their “fantasy” of themselves. I want to show them what, “is”, as I see it.
